The Faculty of Theology Saint Isidore of Seville has opened the registration period for the next academic year 2025-2026. The enrollment process, which began on Monday, June 23, will remain open until September 19. Students have all the information on our website www.sanisidoro.es <\/p>\n

On this occasion, the Dean of the Faculty, Mr. Manuel Palma, recently participated in the programs El Espejo de la Iglesia de Sevilla<\/em> and Iglesia Noticia Sevilla<\/em> on Radio COPE, where he shared some of the key points of the new academic year and the recently approved Strategic Plan 2025-2030.<\/p>\n

This plan, in the words of the dean, is a very important project because it marks the development of the Faculty for the next five years. It is articulated in four fundamental lines, the first basic line is education as a priority of the institution, with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, as well as a commitment to the means to make theology studies available not only in classroom mode but also at a distance and online, thus favoring and betting on flexibility as a pillar of our academic offerings, adapting it to the pace of work, family … ultimately the different realities of our students. Related to teaching, research, where we promote study time and knowledge of teachers. In a second line, interdisciplinarity, with which we propose a theology in dialogue with other disciplines, so that, as D. Manuel indicated in his interview, it becomes what Pope Francis asked for, a providential cultural laboratory, that is, a framework in which a Christianly inspired culture is developed. And finally, contextuality as a third line of action, linking theology to the very identity of our Faculty. <\/p>\n

Don Manuel Palma also highlighted the growth in the number of students since its constitution “this increase is indicative of how Theology is a point of reference and a field of interest for many, how effectively not only religious, priests, consecrated, consecrated …. but also the laity have seen how Theology is a necessity, that is, the knowledge of Jesus Christ also leads us to the possibility of loving Him, to give ourselves to Him and to announce Him as part of the mission to which we are all called”.<\/p>\n

In order to fulfill its objectives of integral formation and academic excellence, the Faculty has a large and continuously growing faculty of professors, with a priority dedication to teaching. There are sixteen full-time professors and as many as fifty full-time professors, many of whom have been trained in Athenaeums of international reference, in Rome and in other cities around the world. This teaching team closely accompanies the students, especially in their research work such as their dissertations, theses and doctoral theses. In addition, the Faculty incorporates professors from other Spanish dioceses and from abroad, who each year teach intensive subjects, mainly in the master’s and doctoral cycles, thus opening the academic horizon to other contexts and forms of knowledge development. <\/p>\n

This year’s academic offerings include:<\/p>\n

Official cycles: <\/strong><\/p>\n

The curriculum of the Faculty of Theology Saint Isidore of Seville comprises the three higher cycles of Theology. Once the philosophical biennium has been passed, the first institutional cycle(Baccalaureatus<\/em> in Theology) lasts three years, or six semesters, during which all the subjects required for a complete theological formation that qualifies for certain ecclesiastical functions are exposed. The second cycle (Master in Theology) is two years of specialization, with the possibility of choosing one of the three specialties offered by the Faculty: Dogmatics, Mariology and Ecclesiology. The third cycle, with the doctorate, with a duration of at least three years, during which the theological formation is perfected and the doctoral thesis is elaborated. <\/p>\n

Likewise, through the San Isidoro and San Leandro Higher Institute of Religious Sciences, it offers the Bachelor’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Sciences. The Bachelor’s Degree can be taken both in the classroom and at a distance, thus favoring the flexibility for which the faculty is committed. <\/p>\n

DECA Program<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Faculty in use of the powers granted by the Congregation for Catholic Education and with the recognition of the Spanish Episcopal Conference organizes the course for obtaining the current Ecclesiastical Declaration of Academic Competence (DECA) at the levels of Early Childhood and Primary Education and Secondary Education, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training. This program is offered in morning and afternoon schedules for both levels. In addition, it is possible to take the DECA for Secondary Education, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training in the distance mode. <\/p>\n

Proprietary titles<\/strong><\/p>\n

The offer of this academic extension consists of the following degrees: the Diploma or University Expert in Liturgy and Popular Religiosity, and the Diploma or University Expert in New Evangelization and Leadership Formation. Both studies have a duration of two courses and are aimed at deacons, catechists, boards of governors of brotherhoods, as well as different pastoral agents within any parish or ecclesial movement. All of them can be taken in classroom and online mode. <\/p>\n

And finally the new online course on the Social Doctrine of the Church. <\/strong>The latter is a course that was launched just a few months ago, in response to one of the calls of the diocesan pastoral plan line, aimed especially at pastoral workers in order to encourage them to be trained in the principles and values of the Social Doctrine of the Church, fundamental for evangelizing and social action in our communities, with an entirely online delivery.<\/p>\n

Formalization of enrollment<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is possible to register online through the “FACULTAD VIRTUAL” platform on the website (www.sanisidoro.es) and, for new students of official cycles (Theology and Religious Sciences) by going to the Faculty headquarters at Avda. Bueno Monreal, 43 (Seville). Schedule from Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 14.00. From September, the schedule will be from Monday to Thursday from 9.00 to 13.00 and from 17.00 to 20.00 and on Fridays from 9.00 to 13.00. <\/p>\n
