Second Cycle. Licentiatus: Master’s degree in Theology, specialty Mariology

One of the most emblematic features of Seville is the Marian devotion it has professed for centuries as a backbone of its history and its people, an emblem of the city, an occasion of popular piety in its maximum manifestation, an essential part of its rich artistic heritage and a social, cultural and tourist attraction to this day. The Marian fervor that the city has always shown, came to fame with the vigorous defense of the immaculist doctrine, to which must be added, due to the idiosyncrasy of the city, the link of this with the evangelization from the sixteenth century and in which the presence of the Mother of the Lord through the missionaries was decisive. In this context, the Faculty of Theology Saint Isidore of Seville offers this undergraduate specialty as a further deepening of the mystery of the Virgin.

Core subjects. Biblical foundations of Mariology, Mariology and liturgical theology, patristic sources of Mariological dogma, Christological foundations, ecclesiological principles of dogma, Mariology and theological anthropology.
