Second Cycle. Licentiatus: Master in Theology

The second cycle of the Licentiate in Theology aims to acquire a theological synthesis. This knowledge will be developed through the study of core subjects related to general topics in Dogmatics, Ecclesiology, or Mariology.

The Licentiate studies in Theology consist of two academic years, or four semesters, and include the writing of the Licentiate Thesis and the corresponding degree examinations.

Most of the courses, as well as the research work that the student must complete, are specific to each of the specialties. The education is further supplemented by seminars and other assignments carried out under the guidance of the professors.

The student must complete, over at least two full academic years, the courses that make up the curriculum of the second cycle, according to the following arrangement: 48 ECTS in core subjects (8 ECTS for each of the six subjects), 30 ECTS in optional subjects (5 subjects of 6 ECTS each), 12 ECTS in supplementary subjects (3 subjects of 4 ECTS each), 8 ECTS in seminars (2 seminars of 4 ECTS each), 10 ECTS for the Licentiate degree examination, and 12 ECTS for the Licentiate Thesis. Total: 120 ECTS.
