Shield

The shield is an update of the obverse of a pectoral medal found near Italica, and attributed to a 6th century bishop. It reproduces a “chrismion”, a cross with the Greek letters alpha and omega (beginning and end of the alphabet and sign of divine sovereignty over history) and sigma (Savior).

The task of the new faculty, framed within the requirement of excellence in teaching and research, to the point of becoming a center for the diffusion of a Christianly inspired culture, with which to weave a living web of relationships with other centers and territories. In this way, the study of a theology “on the move” is encouraged, called to question the problems that affect humanity today and to offer, in Christ the Savior, the Alpha and Omega of history and time, appropriate ways of resolving them.
