Foundation
The Faculty of Theology Saint Isidore of Seville, in accordance with its own objectives described in the Statutes, established the Chair of Mariology at the Center for Theological Studies of Seville on February 20, 2019.

Purposes

The primary goal of the Chair is to evaluate, research, and publicize Mariology. Secondly, it aims to create a specialized bibliographic collection on Mariology, in collaboration with the Benedic XVI Library and the periodical publications of the Faculty of Theology Saint Isidore of Seville. Thirdly, the Chair seeks to maintain contact with all institutions—universities, dioceses, religious congregations, seminaries, archives—that research or promote specialized studies in Mariology. Finally, an important objective is to continue deepening the mystery of the Virgin Mary, given that Marian devotion remains a distinctive feature of the Archdiocese of Seville even today.

Main activities of the Chair
The Chair of Mariology organizes an annual Mariology Conference.
