Foundation
The Faculty of Theology Saint Isidore of Seville, in accordance with its objectives described in the Statutes, established the Chair of Canon and Ecclesiastical Law at the Center for Theological Studies of Seville on February 20, 2019.

Aims
The primary goal of the Chair is to provide a permanent space for reflection within the Faculty of Theology Saint Isidore of Seville on the legal dimension of the Catholic Church’s life and the study of its legal system. Secondly, the Chair aims to promote dialogue with other branches of law, especially ecclesiastical law, seeking to deepen the understanding of the legal regulation of religious phenomena. Finally, the Chair seeks to facilitate the continuous updating and professional development of professors, students, and legal practitioners in the disciplines of Canon Law and Ecclesiastical Law. 

Main activities of the Chair
The Chair of Canon Law and Ecclesiastical Law organizes annually, during the second quarter of the academic year, the Conference on Canon Law and Ecclesiastical Law.
