The Grand Chancellor is the Archbishop of Seville, who represents the Holy See before the Faculty and the Faculty before the Holy See, promoting its preservation and progress and fostering communion with the particular and universal Church (V.G., 12). Thus, the Faculty is legally dependent on the Grand Chancellor, unless the Apostolic See stipulates otherwise (V.G., 13, § 1). (Statutes, 6 ∫ 1)

The Grand Chancellor’s Council advises the Grand Chancellor of the Faculty of Theology in the exercise of his powers. The Council of the Grand Chancellor is made up of the bishops of the dioceses with institutes linked to the San Isidoro Faculty of Theology of Seville, in which the President of the Faculty acts as secretary. The President is in charge of the governance of the Faculty of Theology sui iuris Saint Isidore of Seville, under the authority of the Grand Chancellor (V.G., 18; Applicative Norms, 15, ∫ 1).
The President is appointed by the Grand Chancellor from a list of three permanent professors proposed by the Faculty Board. The appointment of President requires the confirmation of the Dicastery for Culture and Education (Statutes, 9 ∫ 1).

The Faculty Board is the supreme collegial governing body of the Faculty of Theology Saint Isidore of Seville. It is composed of: the President; the Vice Presidents; the General Secretary; the Heads of Departments; the director of the department for quality promotion; a representative from the Council of Rectors; a representative from the student delegation of the Faculty, with a voice but without a vote; other officials, if they are not otherwise part of the Board, may be summoned to it when matters within their competence are discussed; in these matters, they will have a voice but no vote (Statutes, 12 ∫ 1).

The officials of the Faculty of Theology are: the secretary general, the administrator, the librarian and the archivist, appointed for a period of four years, not to be renewed more than once. They are appointed by the President, after consulting the Faculty Board and with the approval of the Grand Chancellor. The officials, properly trained in their respective roles, will act in accordance with the President of the Faculty. They shall report annually to the Faculty Board, which may grant them rules for the exercise of their responsibility, within their own competence. The Faculty of Theology will also have auxiliary staff, administrative and subordinate, in a number deemed appropriate for the effective academic operation. These staff members will be freely appointed by the President, with prior notification to the Grand Chancellor. (Statutes, 43).

The Faculty of Theology will have a Department for Quality Promotion, as established by the Vatican Agency for the Promotion of Quality (AVEPRO), which will be governed by specific regulations approved by the Faculty Board. The immediate responsible person for Quality Promotion at the University is the President, who is tasked with appointing the Director of the Quality Department from among the permanent faculty members. The Director will be appointed for a renewable four-year term. The President of the Faculty chairs the Quality Commission, which also includes the Director of Quality and the General Secretary (Implementing Regulations, 1 § 2). (Statutes, 50, ∫ 1 y 2).

COUNCIL OF RECTORS
The Council of Rectors advises the Grand Chancellor, the President and the Board of the Faculty, especially in matters concerning the priestly formation of students. The Council of Rectors is made up of the ecclesiastical superiors and the superiors of religious houses of formation with at least four students enrolled in the San Isidoro Faculty of Theology of Seville. Ordinarily, it receives information from the President after the meeting of the collegiate bodies, by means of a summons from the President of the Faculty. The Rector’s Council shall elect a representative each year from among its members as a representative on the Faculty Board, and may be renewed for a second consecutive academic year. The Rector’s Council is governed by a specific regulation which develops its competences and the exercise of its functions (Statutes, 13).

STUDENT COUNCIL
Students may elect and be elected delegates and representatives in the governing bodies of the Faculty, present suggestions and make complaints to the competent authority. Furthermore, in accordance with the provisions of the Faculty Regulations, they may set up a Student Council, which shall be consulted on matters concerning them, as well as carry out educational initiatives, with the due approval of the academic authorities. RESEARCH AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
The Faculty of Theology has a person responsible for promoting, supporting and coordinating research, as an essential area of the academic institution and the basis for teaching, and for the development of international relations.
