Tomorrow, Wednesday 18 February, is Ash Wednesday, and with it, the Faculty of Theology Saint Isidore of Seville prepares for the beginning of Lent.
On this occasion, the traditional imposition of ashes will take place during the Eucharist at 5 p.m., which will be celebrated in the Oratory ‘Gaudete et Exsultate’.
The gesture of the imposition of ashes opens a period of conversion, recollection, and spiritual preparation that leads to the celebration of Holy Week. During the liturgy, the faithful will receive ashes on their foreheads in the shape of a cross, as a sign of the fragile condition of human beings and as a call to renew their lives according to the Gospel.
The academic community and all the faithful who wish to join in this beginning of the Lenten journey are invited to participate in this celebration.
