Once again, the Faculty of Theology Saint Isidore of Seville announces the celebration of the 8th Philosophy Conference, organised by the Department of Philosophy.
The session, entitled ‘Thinking about artificial intelligence: a challenge for philosophy’, will take place on Thursday 5 February at 12 noon in the Lecture Hall. The session proposes an open dialogue on an issue that already permeates everyday life, education, the world of work and the cultural horizon. At a time when artificial intelligence is at the centre of public debate, philosophy—and with it, theological reflection—offers an essential framework for discerning its possibilities, limits and ethical consequences, contributing to a calm and informed debate.
The speaker, Rev. Dr. José Santiago Pons Doménech, is dean of the San Vicente Ferrer Faculty of Theology at the Catholic University of Valencia (UCV). He holds a degree in Physics and was ordained as a priest in 1996. He obtained his master’s degree and doctorate in Philosophy from the Gregorian University (Rome), with research on Charles S. Peirce. He works as a professor of Philosophy and, since 2021, has served as dean.
The event is open to the entire academic community and the general public, until full capacity is reached.
