Next Wednesday, 17 December, starting at 12:00 noon, the VI Mariology Conference will take place, organised by the Chair of Mariology and the J. Ratzinger-Benedict XVI Chair.
This year’s conference will focus on ‘The Mariology of J. Ratzinger-Benedict XVI’, offering a theological reflection on the figure of Mary in light of the thinking of the German theologian and pontiff. Throughout the morning, various Marian aspects present in his work and teaching will be addressed, especially those related to beauty, Christian hope, and the importance of Mary in contemporary theological thought.
The programme for the conference will be as follows:

12.00 h – The theology of beauty in J. Ratzinger-Benedict XVI
Speaker: The Honourable Reverend Manuel Palma Ramírez, President-Dean of the Faculty of Theology Saint Isidore of Seville and Director of the J. Ratzinger-Benedict XVI Chair. -
12.30 h – On the occasion of the Jubilee Year of Hope. Mary, Star of Hope in the teachings of Benedict XVI
Speaker: The Reverend Álvaro Román Villalón, Vice-President of the Faculty of Theology Saint Isidore of Seville and Director of the Chair of Mariology. -
13.00 h – The importance of Mary in Christian thought according to J. Ratzinger
Speaker: Prof. Dr. Miguel Ángel García Mercado, Director of Studies at the San Bartolomé Academic Centre (Cádiz).
The conference will be held in the Lecture Hall of the Faculty of Theology Saint Isidore of Seville. All members of the academic community are invited, as well as anyone who wishes to learn more about Mary and the Mariological contributions of J. Ratzinger-Benedict XVI.
