Next Thursday, 2 October, the Faculty of Theology Saint Isidore of Seville will hold the solemn opening ceremony for the 2025-26 academic year.
The day will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the celebration of Holy Mass in honour of the Holy Spirit, presided over by His Excellency and Most Reverend José Ángel Saiz Meneses, Archbishop of Seville and Grand Chancellor of the Faculty, in the Chapel of the Metropolitan Seminary of Seville.
Following the liturgical celebration, at 12 noon, the Faculty Auditorium will host the academic session. The report for the 2024-25 academic year will be presented, followed by the inaugural lecture, entitled ‘Saluting, the revelation of an everyday gesture,’ by His Excellency and Most Reverend Monsignor Giovanni Cesare Pagazzi, Archbishop Archivist and Librarian of the Holy Roman Church. The ceremony will culminate with the solemn opening of the 2025-26 academic year, on behalf of the Holy Father, presided over by the Grand Chancellor, Monsignor José Ángel Saiz Meneses.
Finally, the day will conclude with Spanish wine at the Faculty reception.
