As part of its programme of conferences and lectures, the Faculty of Theology Saint Isidore of Seville announces the celebration of the VII Conference on Philosophy, organised by the Department of Philosophy.
On Friday 7 February at 12.00 noon, we will have the honour of the presence of His Excellency Monsignor Marcel Madila Basanguka, Archbishop Emeritus of Kananga (Democratic Republic of Congo), who will speak on ‘Image and Experience of Faith. Poetic Faith and Modernity’.
Monsignor Marcel Madila Basanguka holds a Doctorate in Philosophy and a Licentiate in Theology, with an outstanding academic and pastoral career. He was ordained a priest in 1981 and obtained his doctorate in Philosophy and History of Religions at the University of Paris-Sorbonne in 1996. He subsequently served as a professor and rector in various seminaries before being appointed Archbishop of Kananga in 2006.
Last September we already had the privilege of receiving Mons. Marcel Madila in our Faculty, where he shared an enriching meeting with the Dean-President of the Faculty, Mr. Manuel Palma, accompanied by the professor of the same, Dr. Augustin Kalamba, also originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo. His return represents a new opportunity to deepen the philosophical and theological dialogue.
The event will take place in the Aula de Cátedras of our Faculty and is open to the entire academic community and the general public, until full capacity is reached.
