On Thursday 23 January, in the framework of the feast of St. Thomas Aquinas, will take place at the headquarters of the Faculty of Theology Saint Isidore of Seville, the Solemn act of investiture as honorary doctorates of the Honourable Giuseppe Card. Paul Gilbert SJ, dean emeritus of the Faculties of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Pontifical Gregorian University and the Rev. D. José Arturo Domínguez Asensio, professor for years at the Centre for Theological Studies of Seville and at the Seminary of Huelva.
The ceremony will begin with the celebration of the Holy Mass in memory of Saint Thomas Aquinas, presided over by His Excellency Mr. José Ángel Saiz Meneses, Archbishop of Seville and Grand Chancellor of the Faculty, at five o’clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of the Metropolitan Seminary of Seville. Afterwards, the assembly hall of the Faculty will host the Solemn ceremony of investiture of the honorary doctors, followed by the awarding of academic titles for the 2023-24 academic year.
This ceremony is in recognition of the outstanding academic and pastoral careers of the new honorary doctors, whose work has left a profound mark on the formation of generations of students. The Faculty of Theology Saint Isidore of Seville thus reinforces its commitment to academic excellence and the dissemination of Christian thought, in line with the intellectual heritage of St. Thomas Aquinas. The academic community is invited to participate in this solemn event.
